Introduction

Five on a Treasure Island is the first book of the Famous Five series written by children's all-time favourite writer Enid Blyton. This is a Fictional-cum-Thriller series for children. So, let's talk about the first book of this series. It is a story about four children rather brothers who have come to their aunt's house for their summer holidays and the adventures they do.

Characters of The Book

First one is Julian who is the eldest of all four, then comes goes Dick which is younger than Julian and then comes Anne who is their sister and the youngest one. These three are brothers. they have a cousin sister named Georgina. She was a TOMBOY and wanted that people must see her as a boy and call her by the name of George. She only replied on the call of George, not of Georgina. He also had a pet dog named Timothy (nicknamed as Timmy) who is taken care of by a fisher boy because her father did not allow pets in her home.

Brief Plot

Julian, Dick and Anne went to their Aunt Fanny's home which was at Kirrin Island for their summer holidays. Their Uncle Quentin was a rather studious, workaholic and quite snobbish when someone interrupted his work. There when they meet Georgina rather George they find it very weird but eventually get used to it. They got to know about a shipwreck near small daughter island of Kirrin. As no one was the owner of the island George used to call it her Island. The shipwreck was of George's great-grand father's. They go to discover that shipwreck and this leads to an array of new adventures and discoveries. This is the point, where the thrill starts.
Resourceful and brave they are, they do find the treasure, but not in time to beat the thugs who arrive on the island and capture them. Do the children escape from the basement? Will the treasure come to the rightful owners or will it be whisked away by thieves? You must read the story to find the answers.

My Likings About the Book

This book is very good for children especially between the age of 7-12 years. This teaches us a lot of moral values like team spirit, brotherhood, politeness, kindness, honesty, courage and a lot more. This is also great for those who like reading thrillers as there are a lot of instances which are cliffhangers and can make goosebumps run all over your skin. This will also help children generate interest in reading more books because this famous five series is REALLY ADDICTIVE. This book also makes use of great vocabulary which will help children improve their word bank.

My Dislikings About the Book.

There is no reason for which I shall dislike this book because according to me there are no negative points about this book. The only thing I dislike is because there are some instances which are not really required in the story which makes it a little bit long but then also it does not decrease the beauty of the story.

Rating

According to me, this book is great for children who like stories filled with suspense and thrill because this one is.  I would give this book a rating of 9/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ☆.
9 stars just because of one small shortcoming which I have mentioned earlier.
I would conclude that this book is BEST FOR YOUNG AND NEW READERS!
